In October of 2003, the Arkansas Supreme Court Committee on Professional Conduct reprimanded, fined and suspended a private attorney for a variety of infractions which, on their face, appear to raise concerns about unbundled legal services. However, several findings of fact would appear to limit the general applicability of this opinion.
- First, the attorney admitted to the court that he represented the individual at the time of the initial pro se complaint filing (although he refused to sign the complaint).
- Second, the plaintiff filed in her capacity as personal representative for the estate.
- Third, the findings detail a lengthy list of missed deadlines, failures to respond and a misstatement of the limitations time period for filing a wrongful death action.
